The Indianapolis City Market is an iconic historic landmark that has served the Indiana immigrant populations for many generations. We would like to welcome you to join us there for a Ukrainian Day Festival at the City Market presented by The International Center and benefitting the Ukrainian Society of Indiana. Expect food demos and tastings, music, art and artifact exhibits, and more. The day-long event will promote Ukrainian culture and heritage and generate funds for Ukrainian Society of Indiana for its ongoing programming and community efforts. Ukrainian food demonstrations and tastings will be offered at 11:30 a.m. and at 4:30 p.m. and select City Market vendors will offer special Ukraine-themed menu items including S.O.U.L. of the City Kitchen Incubator program participant Naptown Hot Chicken who will be donating 5% of the days sales to the USI and offering 10% off purchase to USI members. Music and song performances and workshops will be offered throughout the day, including the U.S. debut performance of “Break the Silence” by theater director Maria Fokina-Rakotonarivo of the Swiss BELOE studio. Fokina-Rakotonarivo created the performance in response to the war in Ukraine to support Ukrainian efforts. Visitors can also enjoy a happy hour at Tomlinson Tap Room, where $1 from each pint of Bier Brewery Special Kolsch will be donated to the Ukrainian Society of Indiana. Admission to the event is free.
